We were provided with trowels to start this apprenticeship. The fresh lime and sand mortar is smoothly coated onto the base. After placing the design, the painter walks his brush containing the pigments over the base. This penetrates the coating during drying. This technique requires a certain speed and skill because the painter can not make corrections. Each of us produced two frescos on specially adapted and portable bases. There was a friendly ambiance and the event will allow us to carry out projects for our church.
Introduction to the art of the fresco
From the 21 to 26 April, four of us took part in an introduction to the art of the fresco, close to Albi. We tried to work from choosing a subject, and going through the process to produce a fresco.
